Ameinu Congratulates New Labor Party Chairman

Ameinu congratulates Amir Peretz on his election to the chairmanship of Israel's Labor Party in the leadership primary that took place this week.

"Peretz's victory represents a new departure for the Labor party and for Israel," stated Kenneth Bob, Ameinu national president. "Under Peretz's leadership, we look forward to the Labor party reasserting its commitment to achieving economic and social justice for all Israelis while maintaining its focus on reaching a permanent agreement with the Palestinians."

He continued, "Ameinu would also like to acknowledge the tremendous contributions of outgoing Chairman Shimon Peres to the Labor Party, the State of Israel and to the entire Jewish people. He is a true visionary and a statesman of the highest caliber."
