Ameinu wishes to express its heartfelt congratulations to Congressman Rahm Emanuel on his appointment as President-elect Barack Obama’s Chief of Staff.
“Rahm Emanuel is one of the brightest lights on the American political landscape,” said Kenneth Bob, President of Ameinu. “His appointment shows that President-elect Obama is moving quickly to build a strong, achievement-oriented administration,” he added.
“Congressman Emanuel’s strong commitment to Israel and to a negotiated peace between Israel and the Palestinians is indisputable,” said Bob. “We urge him, as a key advisor to President-elect Obama, to ensure that the new President hears from American Jewish voices that represent the majority within our community, and not listen to the loud, extremist minority that opposes compromise. Our community wants the United States to take an active approach to help Israel and the Palestinians reach a negotiated and just two state solution, ” Bob said.
Ameinu commends President-elect Obama on this crucial appointment.
