The Two State Solution for Israel and the Palestinians — A demographic necessity that ensures Israel’s long term security

CMEP_DemoUpdate-1

The demographic reality on the ground demonstrates that the only way Israel can remain a Jewish, democratic state is if the Palestinians have a state next to Israel.

The S. Daniel Abraham Center for Middle East Peace has mounted an advertisement campaign to encourage leaders in the Middle East to reach a just and comprehensive peace that will bring an end to the Arab-Israeli conflict.  Beyond the legitimacy of the Palestinians’ right to a state of their own, it is clearly in Israel’s interest to reach a peace agreement based on two states for two people. The Jewish and Arab populations living between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River are almost equal. Only a two state solution guarantees a democratic homeland for the Jewish people. In addition, the vast majority of former Israeli defense and intelligence leaders agree that a Palestinian state is essential for Israel’s security.
